LJMU to support Lord Mayor's Dragon Boat Race 2026

LJMU are proud to be the gold sponsor for this year’s Lord Mayor's Dragon Boat Race, which takes place on Sunday 10 May at Liverpool Watersports Centre.

Teams from various local and regional organisations, including from LJMU, will go head-to-head in long boats decorated with magnificent dragon figureheads. It’s a test of teamwork and concentration as well as a physical challenge. There’s a great atmosphere too, as family and friends line the shores and cheer on the teams.

Andy Keegan, Head of Reward, Staff Engagement and Wellbeing, said: “LJMU is proud to be the gold sponsor for this year’s event, the third consecutive year that we have supported the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Boat Race in this way. It’s a brilliant annual event that brings together colleagues from all over the university in support of local good causes.”

LJMU will have three boats of 15 staff competing in the day’s races.
