In memoriam: Moira Helbert

The university is saddened to announce the death of Moira Helbert, a highly respected and much-valued member of the LJMU community.

Moira dedicated more than 38 years of service to the university, beginning her career in the Estates Management team before moving into administrative roles within Liverpool Business School and later the School of Law. Alongside her professional responsibilities, she made a significant contribution to university life through her work as a Health and Safety Officer and as Joint Chair of UNISON, supporting staff and serving on numerous committees across the institution.

Throughout her career, Moira was known for her professionalism, dedication and commitment to supporting colleagues. She was a trusted and respected member of the university community whose knowledge, kindness and willingness to help others made a lasting impact on those who worked with her.

Moira will be greatly missed by colleagues, past and present. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
