LJMU and Liverpool City Council stand together against racism

LJMU is committed to ensuring our university continues to be a place our community feels safe, respected and that they belong on campus.

That's why the university is proud to be a part of the 'This is Liverpool' campaign which has launched across Merseyside. 

The high-profile anti-racism campaign, led by Liverpool City Council (LCC), has brought together organisations from across the Liverpool City Region this year to demonstrate our shared commitment to building a city where everyone feels they belong. 

As part of the campaign, individuals across the city are encouraged to come together, support each other, and openly oppose racism wherever and whenever they see it.    

We want to ensure that everyone at LJMU and across Liverpool, feels safe, respected and that they belong on our campus.

LJMU has joined the campaign with Liverpool City Council to ensure our university and campus continues to be a place every student, staff and visitor feels safe and respected, has a voice, and feels able to use it.  

LJMU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark Power, said:  "Liverpool is an incredible city and we are proud to call it our home.  We want to ensure that everyone, at LJMU and across Liverpool, feels safe, respected and that they belong on our campus. 

"We stand together with Liverpool City Council not only to unite against racism but to celebrate our differences and support our community."
