Most Innovative Teacher of the Year shortlisting for Dr Lindsey Gaston

Liverpool John Moores University's Dr Lindsey Gaston has been shortlisted for the 'Most Innovative Teacher of the Year' award at this year's Times Higher Education Awards 2026.  

The Innovative Teacher award recognises academics whose creativity, passion and commitment to teaching have transformed courses, inspired students and made a lasting impact on the student experience. 

Liverpool Business School's Dr Lindsey Gaston is one of just six academics from across the Higher Education sector to have been shortlisted in the category. 

As a Senior Lecturer in Events Management at LJMU, Lindsey has developed engaging and inclusive learning experiences that combine industry-focused education with innovative teaching approaches. His work integrates experiential and technology-enhanced learning, helping students develop the skills, confidence and creativity needed to succeed. 

Dr Lindsey Gaston's shortlisting comes as another success for LJMU's Liverpool Business School, which was named Business School of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards 2025.

About the Times Higher Education Awards 

The winner of the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year award and all Times Higher Education Awards will be announced at this year's ceremony on Thursday 26 November at The Vox in Birmingham. 

The Times Higher Education Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across UK and Irish universities. Established in 2005, they are considered ‘the Oscars of Higher Education’ and one of the most prestigious events in the sector.
