Following four great years there, Graeme then decided to switch course and pursue an accountancy qualification with a strong desire to help other organisation advance their risk and control practices into commercial advantage. He joined Deloitte and trained to be a Chartered Accountant, becoming a specialist in higher education, and was in fact being LJMU’s Internal Audit Manager for a number of years.

Graeme then moved into industry and worked in Commodity and Investment Banking, holding a number of global roles, working in Asia, the US and Europe specialising in risk and strategy management, including setting up a new business in Shanghai and helping global banking clients derisk physical commodity trading through strong process reengineering.

Graeme then moved into global insurance, building up RSA’s Global Financial Control team and later building out the same with Intact Financial Corporation after their acquisition of RSA in 2021, one of the largest insurance companies in the world. He now leads teams across North America, Europe and India in global financial control excellence.

Graeme is also a trustee of the local award winning charity, An Hour for Others, as well as Board Member of ICAEW Liverpool.

Graeme has two children, Freya and Katie, who make him proud every single day.
