Staff Feedback on the Accessibility Tool

The Teaching and Learning Academy is asking staff to share their experiences with a tool called Ally.

Ally is software that helps teachers make their online learning materials easier to use for everyone, especially students with disabilities.

What is Ally?

Ally works inside Canvas, LJMU's online learning system. It checks files and documents to see if they are accessible.

For example, it checks if:

  • Images have descriptions for students who cannot see them
  • Documents are easy to read
  • Colours are clear enough

Why are we doing this survey?

The university wants to know:

  • How are staff finding using ALLY
  • What help staff might need

Why does this matter?

Making learning materials accessible is a legal requirement. More importantly, it helps all students learn better, especially those with disabilities or different learning needs.

The feedback from staff will help LJMU improve accessibility support and training.
