Canvas New Quizzes is here!
From 15 August, Canvas New Quizzes will be available for all staff alongside Classic Quizzes.
Last month we introduced New Quizzes and looked at why Canvas is replacing Classic Quizzes. With New Quizzes now available, we're moving into the next phase of the rollout, focusing on helping staff become familiar with the new tool over time.
There is no immediate need to change the way you currently work. Classic Quizzes will continue to be available until Summer 2027, giving everyone plenty of time to explore New Quizzes and decide when it's appropriate to begin using it.
A phased approach
Rather than introducing everything at once, support for New Quizzes will be rolled out in stages over the next year.
The aim is to give staff the information, guidance and opportunities to explore New Quizzes when they need them, rather than expecting everyone to adopt a new way of working immediately.

Over the coming months, we'll be sharing guidance, training and updates as the rollout progresses, helping staff build confidence with New Quizzes before Classic Quizzes is retired.
New support pages
We've also launched a dedicated Canvas New Quizzes support page on the EdTech website.
This will be the main place to find information throughout the rollout, including:
- Getting started guidance
- Support articles and FAQs
- Training opportunities
- Feature walkthroughs
- Project updates
As new guidance and resources are developed, they'll be added here, so it's worth bookmarking if you think you'll be using New Quizzes over the coming year.
Looking ahead
This is the start of a gradual rollout rather than a single launch. Over the next year, we'll continue to develop guidance and training, share practical examples and respond to feedback as more staff begin using New Quizzes.
If you haven't already read our previous article New Quizzes, it's a good place to start for an overview of what's changing and why.
