Programme Times
Weekly teaching sessions are held on Wednesdays from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. The programme consists of two twenty-credit modules. The first module in Semester One runs from September to December (exact dates are outlined in the Academic Calendar 2026-2027), and the module in Semester Two runs from January to the end of April.

Relevant work experience
Experience in the field of HR, Training, Development or related area or aspirations to work in this area will be assessed by the programme manager who will interview the prospective students if the information for admission is not clear from their application and CV.

AI-Aware Assessment
Assessment has been designed in line with LJMU's guidance on Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), helping you develop the skills needed to work confidently and responsibly in AI-enabled workplaces.
Assessment tasks encourage authentic learning by focusing on:
- Real-world, contextualised challenges
- Personal reflection and professional judgement
- Evidence of your learning process
- Use of contemporary and relevant sources
- Critical evaluation of AI-generated content
- Oral and discussion-based assessment where appropriate
Where AI tools can appropriately support learning, you'll receive clear guidance on their acceptable use and how to acknowledge them correctly.
Academic Integrity
Each assessment has been reviewed using LJMU's Assessment Risk Management System (ARMS) to ensure academic integrity while supporting innovative assessment design.
You'll also receive clear guidance on referencing, collaboration and the responsible use of AI throughout your studies.

CPD award
This course is approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has been developed to reflect its Intermediate Standard Level. If you complete the programme successfully, you will become an Associate Member.
