Travelling by car

As with any trip, it's really important that you plan your journey in advance and take into account any disruption to roads, buses, or rail. Local updates to public transport can be found on the Merseytravel website.

 

If you are travelling to the John Lennon Art and Design Building by road and are using satellite navigation equipment you can enter the co-ordinates 53.404965,-2.970643 or the postcode L3 5RD.  

 

There is no car parking at the John Lennon Art and Design Building and the nearest NCP car park can be found at the bottom of Mount Pleasant (L3 5TB) towards the city centre. This particular car park operates a pay and display system – please note, the Mount Pleasant NCP closes at 8pm so may be unsuitable for evening events.

Travelling by public transport

Rail


The John Lennon Art and Design Building is just a ten-minute walk away from the nearest mainline station at Lime Street. Take the main exit at the station and turn left onto Lime Street. Then turn left again at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel and continue up Brownlow Hill towards the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral. The John Lennon Art and Design Building will be on the right before you reach the Cathedral.

Coach


The National Express Coach Station is located at Liverpool One Bus Station, Canning Place, Liverpool L1 8LB, in the heart of Liverpool's city centre.

Once in Liverpool, follow signs for Lime Street Station, then follow directions to the University from the station, as described above.

You can sail between Liverpool and Belfast, Liverpool and Dublin and Liverpool and the Isle of Man. Locally, Mersey Ferries operate services between Pier Head and Birkenhead/Wallasey on the Wirral. Once in Liverpool, follow signs for the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral, or for Lime Street Station, then follow directions to the University from the station, as described above.
