Volunteering, Summer Opportunities and Go Global Fair – Student Life Building

9 February, 12-3PM

Summer has arrived early at LJMU. Join our LJMU Student Futures team and JMSU as they host our Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair. There’ll be Liverpool, UK and Go Global opportunities with organisations and businesses exhibiting at the event. Complete with a summer theme, there’ll also be free food, games and an ice cream van! A great chance to meet and chat to employers across a variety of sectors, the fair is not one to be missed!

The Batman is released

4 March

The Batman hits our screens on 4 March but some of the locations might seem strikingly familiar! That’s because Liverpool was chosen as a backdrop for Gotham City. This isn’t the first time Liverpool has been used on the big screen, Captain America, Peaky Blinders and even Harry Potter have all used our city as a filming location. Look out for St George’s Hall and other gothic landmarks being used.

Grad Fair – Student Life Building

9 March

Our Student Futures and JMSU will be holding our annual Grad Fair for those in their final year of undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. With over 80 exhibitors attending the event, it’s a great opportunity to speak to employers and graduate schemes about what they are looking for and how to make yourself stand out from the crowd. Watch this space for more details...

Liverpool Sound City

30 April – 1 May

This year marks 15 years of Sound City, The UK’s leading independent festival for new music. The first 15 acts have already been announced, with 100’s in the pipe line and The Latham’s debut for their first headline slot.

Liverpool Comic Con May

21 –22 May 2022

Comic con Liverpool is back at the Exhibition Centre in May to unite fans of pop culture, films, tv, comic books and more. Famous faces from Guardian of the Galaxy, Vampire Diaries and Glee will be at the event with many attendees dressing up to join in with the cosplay community.

Africa Oyé Festival

18 and 19 June

The Africa Oyé Festival returns to Sefton Park this summer for its 30th anniversary. The free festival takes place over two days in June and will see the music and culture of Africa, the Caribbean and the diaspora transform Sefton Park. There’ll be live music, DJs, dance, as well as workshops, food stalls and a range of traders.
