Applications for Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students now open

The final round of paid Discovery Internships for this academic year, which this time has a sustainability theme, are open for applications now from second and final year (level 5 and 6) students.

What are the 'Go Green' Discovery Internships?

For this round of opportunities, you can apply for a 140-hour internship working with an organisation in the Liverpool City Region on a project aligned with the 17 sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

You will be paid a living wage for your time and the internships are designed to enhance your employability skills, career insight and CV, as well as demonstrate your commitment to sustainable development.

The 140-hour internships comprise 136 hours with the host employer, 3 hours sustainability training delivered by LJMU and 1-hour self-reflection.  You will be automatically enrolled on this training, taking place in May, if you are successful in securing an internship.  More information will be provided as part of the onboarding process for successful candidates.

For students who apply but are unsuccessful, free sustainability training is also available, with the chance to secure one of 10 opportunities to have 1-2-1 mentoring by an external expert in the field upon completion of the training.

How to apply for a Discovery Internship

The ‘Go Green’ internships are now open for applications until midnight on Friday 5 April.  Interviews with the host organisation will take place before the end of April and the internships start from the week beginning 13 May (start dates may vary for each role).

Discovery Internships are advertised via Unitemps, LJMU’s own recruitment agency.  If you are already signed up for Unitemps, you can start applying immediately.  If not, register here so you are eligible to apply for the internships. You can apply for as many internships as you want.
