Global Citizen volunteering opportunities for summer 2027
This November, you can find out more about the amazing international volunteering opportunities available to you as an LJMU student in summer 2027.
On Wednesday 11 November, our Global Opportunities team will be hosting their Global Citizen Volunteering Fair in the Student Life Building from midday to 4pm at the Global Lounge on the ground floor.
You come along to meet with our approved providers and find out more about the volunteering programmes they offer. Students who volunteered last year will also be there for you to chat to.
Global Opportunities team staff will also be there to talk more about funding support.
Find out more on the Global Opportunities Canvas site.
International volunteering can be an exciting and rewarding way to develop your skills, experience different cultures, gain a deeper understanding of global issues, and contribute positively to communities and projects around the world. It can also help you build confidence, develop valuable transferable skills, and enhance your future employability.
Global Citizen Bursary for undergraduate students
This year the Global Opportunities team can provide funding to up to 30 undergraduate students taking part in an opportunity with our volunteer providers. A £500 bursary will be awarded to successful applicants.
The Global Citizen Bursary will be opening for our first round of applications on 30 November at 9am.
You can apply for funding via the Global Opportunities Portal.
You do not need to receive an LJMU bursary to take part in an international volunteering opportunity. Students are welcome to apply directly to LJMU’s approved providers and fund their participation independently if they wish to do so.
