Support over summer 2026
As the academic year ends for most of our students and the summer break begins, don’t forget we’re still here for all our students throughout the summer months.
Whether you need student advice and wellbeing support, use of the LJMU Libraries, need help with IT issues, or would like dedicated careers advice from our teams, we’ve outlined our continued support over summer below.
Building opening times
Our Student Life Building will be open 24/7 over the summer break.
During the summer and non‑teaching period, we’ll be refurbishing and improving a number of our buildings and facilities to ensure students continue to benefit from the best possible campus and learning experience.
Keep an eye on our news channels and social media for updates on any building works taking place on campus.
Library opening hours
The Mount Pleasant and City Campus Libraries will begin operating at summer opening hours from mid-May until the beginning of September 2026.
To plan your visit and study time, you can view the live opening hours each day on the LJMU Library website.
Need to return a book?
You can drop off items at our Libraries. If you’re graduating this summer, make sure you return all of your library books.
IT and Library support
Library staff will be available in-person during Library opening hours to support you with your Library and IT queries, or you can contact us through the following ways:
- Ask LJ our LJMU AI Assistant (available 24/7 via our Library website)
- Telephone enquiries: 0151 231 3179
- Email: libraryhelp@ljmu.ac.uk
- Use the LJMU Assist form
For further technical support or help, visit the IT support for students webpages.
Academic Success support, including Maths and Statistics
Our Academic Success team is available throughout the summer offering drop-in sessions and appointments for all your assignment needs, including deferrals and referrals.

Student Advice and Wellbeing
All of our Student Advice and Wellbeing Teams are still on hand to support you over the summer.
You can speak to our advisors by dropping by the SAW desks in the Student Life Building between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday or by booking an appointment online.
Our services will also be available in the Byrom Street Student Zone up until 20 July 2026.
If you need financial advice, including support with end of year bills or graduation costs, you can contact the Money Advice team.

We wish all our students a safe and restful summer.
