Staff celebrate achievements at awards evening

More than 280 staff came together at the Titanic Hotel to recognise and celebrate their outstanding contributions to the university, to our students, our local communities and for their impactful research.

Both academic and professional services staff were brought together to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of individuals and teams across the whole of LJMU.

Awards were given out for the Professional Services Excellence Awards 2025, the Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Awards 2025 and the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Research and Knowledge Exchange 2025.

Colleagues confirmed as Professors and Readers in 2025 were also recognised during the evening, alongside a special mention from the Vice-Chancellor for recent university awards wins including the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Prize for Higher and Further Education 2025, Business School of the Year and Outreach Initiative of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards 2025, and Law School of the Year at the Educate North Awards 2026.

The last 12 months have witnessed some superb achievements from teams and individuals across our two faculties and within professional services. Those successes reflect the talent and dedication we have at our university and our openness to collaborate with others to deliver our strategy and continually place our students at the heart of everything we do.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark Power

Vice-Chancellor Mark Power added: “Thank you for everything you do to deliver excellence across our university. I’m exceptionally proud of what we do at LJMU and the positive difference we make to the world around us. And that is down to our people – so tonight we celebrate those achievements.”
