Time and talent

Help inspire the next generation

Who better to offer advice to our students than our alumni?

Your experience at university helps shape who you are, and being a graduate of LJMU means you not only benefit from lifelong careers support but you can help prepare the next generation of graduates for work in your industry.

The LJMU ethos of civic engagement with the city and beyond is reflected in our approach to fostering robust partnerships between alumni and current students. Giving some of your time and sharing your experience as part of our Time and Talent World of Work programme helps provide students with the skills, knowledge and competencies employers are looking for.

There are a number of ways you can get involved:

  • Put your skills into action - if you have experience of recruitment/interviewing at graduate or equivalent level your abilities would be invaluable in helping students gain their certificates as part of our unique Careers programmes
  • Give insider access to your industry - from work shadowing to site visits and placements, there is no better way to help develop an understanding of your field than to enable students to experience it directly
  • Contribute your knowledge - provide case studies for students, become a guest speaker, or use your expertise to help develop and review LJMU degree courses

Have a great idea?

As an essential part of the wider LJMU community, we’re always interested in hearing from you if you have something special to offer or suggestions for events and services which you would find useful.

We are particularly interested in the further development of mutually beneficial partnerships with alumni and the organisations they work for: if you would like to discuss your ideas with our team please contact us on alumni@ljmu.ac.uk.
