careers appointment banner

One to one appointments to chat to a Careers and Employability Adviser from the Student Futures team are available up to 23 December at 4.30pm.  Before then, we have online appointments (via Microsoft Teams) or telephone appointments available Monday – Friday from 9am-4.30pm for students from any programme or level of study.  We then reopen after the Winter break for appointments on 4 January.  We have a good availability of appointments over the next week so please do book in!

The team is available to support you whatever stage of your career journey you are at, whether you are still exploring what direction you want to take, you have a clear idea of your next steps or anywhere in between.  If you want your CV, application form or personal statement checked by an expert, would like guidance on your next steps or ideas about which careers to pursue, advice on work experience, postgraduate study, teaching options, or any other careers-related matter, booking a chat couldn’t be easier.

Simply visit our website and follow the instructions provided.  Some appointments are available to book online or you can connect with to a member of the team who will book an appointment for you; simply email careers@ljmu.ac.uk or telephone 0151 231 3719.

If there are specific circumstances in which a face-to-face appointment is more appropriate to your needs, please email careers@ljmu.ac.uk with this request.

For any students who are interested in setting up their own business, scaling up their business or freelancing, or just want to explore a business idea, email startup@ljmu.ac.uk

Funded Internship opportunities for L5 and L6 students

Exclusive to LJMU students, Discovery Internships are now live on Unitemps!  Would you like to gain work experience in a professional environment with a Liverpool City Region company working for 20 days part-time?  If you are a level 5 or 6 student who is applying for a Discovery Internship, the team are available by online appointments until 4.30pm on Thursday 23 December to help with the application process. There is also still time for L5 and L6 students to register to be part of the LJMU Graduate Futures internship programme.  To be eligible for this you must register your interest via this form by 17 December.  Adverts will go live before the Winter break and the deadline for applications will be 7 January for a mid-February start. Support over the holiday period

Student Futures will open again after the Winter break on Tuesday 4 January.  If you require support during the break, don’t forget you can access Careers Zone 24/7, our online careers platform, at any time, from anywhere.  Careers Zone 24/7 includes our jobs board and interactive careers tools including CV builder, to build your first CV, CV360, to fine-tune your existing CV, and Interview360, which enables you to take a range of mock interviews to brush up on your technique.  And this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of information and resources available on the platform.

And finally …

All that remains is to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season from the Student Futures team and we will see you again in 2022.
