How to book an appointment with the Careers Team

Whether you’re looking for general careers advice, CV or application form reviews, help with postgraduate or teaching applications, advice on work experience, internships, volunteering, part-time work or graduate jobs, interview help or any other careers-related matters, you can take advantage of 30 minute one-to-one appointments with our Careers Team Advisers.

To book an appointment with a member of the Careers Team, call in to one of our Careers Zones (in the James Parsons Building at Byrom Street, Aldham Robarts Library and IM Marsh Library). Alternatively, phone 0151 231 2048/3719.  Appointments are typically held in one of the Careers Zones but occasionally take place in other LJMU buildings.

Careers Team drop-ins

The Careers Team offer drop-ins/quick queries on most days in the Careers Zones.  Each drop-in lasts 10 minutes and are offered on a first come first served basis.  Drop-in times can vary from week to week so call into a Careers Zone or telephone 0151 231 2048/3719 to find out when they are happening.

Interview practice sessions

If you’ve never had an interview before and don’t know what to expect we can help you beat your interview nerves by booking a practice interview with one of our advisers.  To book an interview call into a Careers Zone or telephone us on 0151 231 2048/3719.

If you would like us to tailor an interview for a specific role you are applying for we’ll ask you to provide the application form you have submitted along with the job description and person specification for the role.  These documents will need to be provided a minimum of 48 hours before the practice interview; the staff at the Careers Zones will prompt you for these documents when you book the practice interview.

Please note: although we will try to anticipate potential questions you may face during your interview, these questions will be indicative of an interview situation only and you must prepare to answer whatever questions you may be asked.
