Student support schemes

LJMU have multiple support schemes and resources/services available to assist students. Please see the dropdowns below and watch our videos for further information.

Laptop and Data Scheme

LJMU has introduced a new scheme to provide vouchers for students to buy laptops to support their studies.

Students are also able to apply for support with the cost of their data allowance.

The assistance plan is part of our commitment to ensuring that students have access to the support they need in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laptop scheme

Students can apply for a voucher to buy a new laptop procured by the university from an external IT company.

If their application is successful, students will be given a code to cover up to £578 towards the purchase of a laptop (students should check the specification required for their course before choosing a laptop. The allocation may not cover some of the higher specification machines required on certain courses).

Students who are eligible to apply have been contacted by email and provided a link to submit their application.

Data

Students may also apply for assistance with the cost of a data package for their devices.

You should apply for the LJMU Student Support Fund. Certain documents will need to be provided including evidence of student finance and bank statements. In addition to support with data, the team will assess if students are eligible for any other support on hardship grounds.
