When is the International Welcome and Induction?
The LJMU International Induction and Welcome Event will take place from Thursday 14 September to Friday 15 September 2023. We advise that all international students arrive in Liverpool at least the week before this induction event.
Who should attend this event?
All international students, including study abroad and exchange programme students, who are starting their studies in September 2023.
Why should I attend the International Induction and Welcome Event?
Attending the international welcome and induction event is a great way to start your new life in Liverpool. The event will give you the chance to discover your new university environment and campuses, as well as connect with other international students also starting their LJMU journey.
Members of the international and student support teams will be on hand to offer guidance and support, and you will also get to meet your new programme leaders.
What will be covered at the International Welcome Event?
More information on the International Induction and Welcome event will be available Summer 2023.
Are there any social activities planned for international students during this event?
Our International Induction and Welcome Event programme includes a list of activities and events to help international students get to know the local area and make friends. There will be lots of exciting activities going on including:
- a city and campus tour
- a games night
- a chance to explore the city with your new friends
The full programme will be available from Summer 2023.
Where can I collect my student ID card?
Students who have completed online registration and enrolment will be able to collect their ID cards on campus. Further details will be confirmed in Summer 2023.
When will I start my studies at LJMU?
The start date for most programmes is the 18 September 2023.
We recommend that you check the start date on your offer letter as some courses may require you to be in the Liverpool at an earlier date. All courses will begin with an additional departmental induction and welcome.
How do I book a place at the International Welcome Event?
To confirm your place at the event, you must complete the International Arrivals and Induction Form for 2023. This form will be available in Summer 2023.
What if I cannot attend the International Welcome Event?
We expect you to be in Liverpool on Thursday 14 September for this induction event to start your studies at LJMU. You must have arrived in the UK by the programme start date of Monday 18 September at the latest.
Where can I collect my BRP card once in Liverpool
You will need to collect your BRP from the Post Office that you added to your visa application. Most LJMU students will collect their BRPs from Central Village Post Office, St John's Shopping Centre, 39 Dawson Way, Liverpool L1 1LJ.
Airport meet and greet
We will be offering an airport meet and greet service from Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester International airports. This airport pickup service is designed to accommodate students for their arrival into Liverpool, and more specifically for those who will be attending our in-person induction/welcome events.
To book this service, you will need to give our support team at least four days’ notice to guarantee the transfer for you. To book your transfer please contact internationalarrivals@ljmu.ac.uk.
Airport pickup booking will be available from Summer 2023.
Please be aware that we only offer this pickup service for drop off to the following postcode areas within Liverpool: L1 to L8, L13 to L15 and L17 to L19.
