Update required to access Wi-Fi service

All students will need to reconnect to continue using the Eduroam Wi-Fi service.

Due to an update with our Eduroam security certificate, you will need to forget and then reconnect to the service after 9 October 2025.

In most cases this will be a simple task of selecting Eduroam in your list of Wi-Fi connections and selecting the option to forget this network. You should then be able to select Eduroam again from the list of available network connections and log back in.

In some instances this approach may not work. In this case you may need to remove the profile settings saved on your device and then re-add the connection. Details of how to do this are below:

iOS

  1. Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
  2. Select the Eduroam Configuration Profile
  3. Remove profile

Windows

  1. Type Wi-Fi in the search bar at the bottom of the screen, select Wi-Fi settings > Manage known networks
  2. Select forget next to Eduroam. A reboot may be required.

macOS

Choose the Apple menu in the top left of the screen > System Settings>Wi-Fi > Select Details next to the network you're using > Select Forget This Network, then select remove to confirm.

Alternatively go to system preferences > Profile > Select the Eduroam Configuration Profile > Select remove

Android

If you have not used the geteduroam app previously please follow the Android instruction.

If you already have the app open it, press reconfigure > Reconfigure device > login with username@ljmu.ac.uk and password > select save and you should now be connected.

Further help

You can find more instructions on using Eduroam and if you do experience any issues or need help you can speak to the IT Support Team in the Student Life Building or the nearest library.
