Captain James Morgan Collection: Archive and Online Exhibition
In 2020, Mrs Joyce Morgan donated her husband James' collection to CPMH at LJMU. Captain Morgan sailed with EDL during his career and amassed a collection of over 1500 items relating to EDL and his time in the Merchant Navy. From March 2021 to May 2023, LJMU student interns Julie Cain, Jenny Cooper, Kate Hudson and Rosie Nock catalogued and digitised the items, and the collection is now held in the Special Collections and Archives at LJMU in the Aldham Robarts Library, Maryland Street, Liverpool, L1 9DE.

This music recording was collected by Andrew Ferguson who has kindly agreed to have it uploaded to our site. We think that the music could have been played on board Elder Dempster Line ships, but we have not been able to verify this.
