Enitan Carrol
After studying medicine at the University of Aberdeen, Carrol was appointed as a Professor of Paediatric Infection at the University of Liverpool in 2013.- She has over 20 years’ research experience in bacterial infection, specialising in understanding host responses and improving diagnoses.
- A focus of her work is tackling antimicrobial resistance through enhancements in the clinical evaluation of febrile children.
- Her work has covered experimental medicine, clinical trials and implementation science, these interests extending from original innovations to ultimate application in applied health settings.
- Passionate about building research capacity within her students, in 2020 she was appointed as Clinical Director of the National Institute for Health Research's Clinical Research Network in the North West Coast.
