Robert Lee Williams II (1930 - 2020)

  • Attended Philander Smith College and Washington State University.
  • Co-founder of the National Association of Black Psychologists and was the association’s second president.
  • Specialised in cultural bias and the education of Black children.
  • Professor of Psychology at Washington State University and developed their African & African-American Studies program.
  • Developed the Black Intelligence Test of Cultural Homogeneity, showing that different experiences and speech cause reduced IQ scores in biased tests.
  • Researched Black linguistic practices.
