Shuji Nakamura
- Nakamura is a Physicist and Electronics engineer who was born in Ikata, Ehime, Japan.
- At school, he was not academically gifted and his passion throughout primary and high school was volleyball.
- Nakamura studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Tokushima and his doctorate from this institution.
- Shortly after graduating, he started working at Nicha and there he developed the first Gallium Nitride LED.
- In 2014, Nakamura was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics for the invention of the blue LED.
