Support over summer

Teaching and exams may be over but don’t forget we’re still here for all our students this summer.
Whether you need careers advice, mental health and wellbeing support, use of the LJMU Libraries or support with IT, we’ve outlined our continued support over summer below.
Building opening times
Our Student Life Building will be open 24/7 over the summer break.
Library Opening Hours
The Avril and Aldham Robarts will begin operating at summer opening hours from mid-May until the beginning of September 2025.
To plan your visit and study time, you can view the live opening hours each day on the LJMU Library website.
Need to return a book?
You can drop off items at any of our three sites, Aldham Robarts, Avril Robart or the Student Life Building. If you’re graduating this summer, make sure you return all of your library books.
IT and Library Support
Library staff will be available in-person during Library opening hours to support you with your Library and IT queries, or you can contact us through the following ways:
- Ask the Library chat service (available 24/7 via our Library website)
- Telephone enquiries 0151 231 3179
- IT Coordinators will be available Monday to Friday to support with the Digital Classroom and any Library queries.
- Email libraryhelp@ljmu.ac.uk
- Use the LJMU HelpMe form
For further technical support or help, visit the IT support for students webpages.
Academic Skills Support
Our Academic Skills team is still available throughout the summer with drop in sessions and classes still ongoing.
Results Notification Day is Friday 13 June and the team will be on hand if you don't get the results you hoped for, need to resit, or want to improve your study skills over the summer, ahead of the next academic year.
Find out more about Academic Skills drop ins and appointments.
Wellbeing and Money Advice
Our Student Advice and Wellbeing team is still on hand to support your health and wellbeing.
You can speak to wellbeing advisors by dropping by the SAW desk in the Student Life Building or booking a student wellbeing appointment online.
The Money Advice Team can be contacted for financial advice, including support with end of year bills or graduation costs.
Career Support
Unitemps
If you're a student or recent LJMU graduate (within 2 years of graduation), dive into flexible, paid opportunities through Unitemps. Beyond financial gains, these assignments boost your CV, enhance employability skills, and increase organisational awareness. Visit Unitemps and start applying to jumpstart your career.
Access Student Futures
As an LJMU student or graduate, you have access to Student Futures for lifelong career support. Get help with CVs, interview preparation, and career guidance through Careers Zone 24/7. Or book a one-to-one careers meeting and explore e-learning courses tailored to your career goals, or a start-up meeting for support and advice about self-employment, freelancing or starting a business. Find out more on the Student Futures webpages.
Have a safe and restful summer
We wish all our students a safe and restful summer.
Thinking about what to do over the coming months, with so much to see and explore around Liverpool, plus further opportunities abroad, we’ve pulled together some suggestions on what to do this summer.
