Staff needed to volunteer for Clearing 2025
It's that time of year again and the university is seeking staff to help with operating 100 phone lines at our Clearing hub on Thursday 14 August 2025. No previous experience is required, and full training will be given.
This year the Clearing hub will be located in the John Foster Building, Mount Pleasant campus.
The busiest times of clearing are 7.30am to 3.30pm, although support is appreciated throughout the day no matter how many hours you are able to commit to.
All staff can take part in Clearing
Any member of staff, academic or professional services can take part in clearing and any support you are able to provide is greatly appreciated.
Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will also be provided.
Professional Services Staff
We’re asking Professional Services staff to volunteer to support the main lines as a ‘first responder.’
First responders will be overseen by supervisors, who will be responsible for making each decision. Alongside this, academic staff will be on hand to talk in greater depth about individual courses. An additional confirmation line will be set up to deal with enquiries from existing applicants.
If you are available to support as a Clearing operator, please let us know by completing our Clearing survey form by Monday 28 July.
Full operator training will be given at an online session, 10am to 11am on Tuesday 12 August 2025. The session will also be recorded for anyone unable to attend at this time.
Academic Staff
If you are an academic member of staff looking to support with the academic conversion call backs, please email clearingsupport@ljmu.ac.uk.
