Online Exercise Support Service for individuals
Expert, personalised exercise support, wherever you are.
Knowing that exercise is good for your health is one thing. Knowing what to do, how much to do and how to keep going can be much harder.
The LJMU Clinical Exercise Physiology Clinic offers a paid, six-month Online Exercise Support Service for people living with, or at risk of developing, long term health conditions. A registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist will work with you to understand your health, goals, preferences and lifestyle and develop an exercise programme around you.
Delivered remotely, the service combines virtual consultations, personalised exercise prescription, behavioural support and digital technology to help you become more active safely and confidently, without routine travel to the clinic.

The service may be suitable if you are:
- living with, or at risk of developing, a long-term health condition

Support between consultations
You are not expected to do this alone. Where you choose to use supported monitoring technology, your activity watch and digital platform can provide information about your exercise and physical activity between appointments. Your Clinical Exercise Physiologist can use this alongside your consultations to provide personalised feedback and support.
Developed through our research
The service is informed by the MOTIVATE approach developed and tested through research at Liverpool John Moores University. This combines personalised exercise counselling, behavioural support, digital technology and ongoing communication to help people start and maintain physical activity.
