Online Exercise Support Service

Expert exercise support for individuals, healthcare professionals and organisations.

The LJMU Clinical Exercise Physiology Clinic offers a paid Online Exercise Support Service that can be accessed directly by individuals or commissioned by healthcare organisations, employers, charities and other providers.

Delivered by registered Clinical Exercise Physiologists, the service provides personalised exercise assessment, prescription, monitoring and behavioural support through a combination of virtual consultations, wearable technology and ongoing coaching. This flexible model enables people to receive specialist support from home, regardless of location, while allowing organisations to provide evidence-based exercise support to individual patients or larger populations.

Whether the goal is managing a long-term condition, supporting recovery following treatment, improving physical activity levels or promoting healthier lifestyles, our team can develop personalised programmes designed to meet individual needs and achieve meaningful health outcomes.

How the Online Exercise Support Service works

Our digital exercise support service enables individuals to access specialist support without needing to attend the clinic in person.

Individuals work with a registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist who develops a personalised exercise plan based on their health status, goals, preferences and lifestyle. Through regular virtual consultations and ongoing support, we help individuals safely increase their physical activity levels and build confidence in managing their health through exercise.

What the service includes

Depending on individual needs, individuals may receive:

  • an initial assessment with a Clinical Exercise Physiologist
  • a personalised exercise and physical activity plan
  • regular virtual consultations and progress reviews
  • ongoing support, coaching and motivation
  • exercise intensity guidance using wearable technology
  • monitoring of progress and outcomes throughout the programme

Our approach focuses on helping people integrate physical activity into everyday life in a way that is realistic, achievable and sustainable.
