This page includes information to help you implement the HealthyWEY e-learning within your local area, with a view to promoting meaningful and sustainable change.

It is recommended you work through both the Implementation Guidance, and the Implementation Planning Tool before implementing HealthyWEY amongst your teams.

There is also an interview with two previous Child Weight Champions, in which they share their experiences and offer tips for others looking to integrate HealthyWEY into their existing services.

Implementation Guidance

Who is the guidance for?

Service Leads, Managers, Team Leaders, Child Weight Champions and anyone responsible for HealthyWEY implementation.

What does the guidance cover?

The video and accompanying information sheet explain why implementation is important, factors to consider when implementing HealthyWEY, and the role of Child Weight Champions in the process.

Implementation Planning Tool

Who is the planning tool for?

Child Weight Champions and anyone coordinating the HealthyWEY implementation. It is a practical template designed for Child Weight Champions to work through together over 2-3 hours (after first working through the Implementation Guidance).

What does the planning tool cover?

The video and accompanying worksheet take you through the steps of planning for implementation, and support you to set a concrete action plan for moving forward. Examples are provided from our pilot research with sites who have already been through the process.

What is the module progress log?

The module progress log is an optional template Child Weight Champions may wish to share with staff to help them log their progress with the HealthyWEY e-learning.

Interview with Child Weight Champions

In the video below (~ 20 minutes), Sophie Ruffles and Lindsey Dunsford from Solent NHS Trust talk about their experiences of being Child Weight Champions during the HealthyWEY pilot, and offer practical advice for others looking to integrate HealthyWEY into their existing services.
