    Pharmacy and biomolecular scientists use state-of-the-art facilities in the Life Sciences Building which is equipped for drug dispensing, scene of crime forensic studies, DNA analysis, spectroscopic studies, and much more.

  3. Sean Ryan

    Business graduate Sean, while he doesn’t take life too seriously, has used the skills he honed at LJMU to develop two wacky businesses.

  4. Jane Williams (1898 - c. 2016)

    Jane was a student at the F.L. Calder College of Domestic Science, one of LJMU’s historic colleges, where she qualified as a teacher. She went on to teach at schools in Wales thanks to a personal reference from Fanny Calder herself. Records from her life help to tell the significant history of LJMU as an institution that supports the training of teachers, always placing importance on providing education for all. The records are held within LJMU’s Special Collections and Archives.

  5. Barry Groombridge interview – Elder Dempster

    Barry Groombridge joined Elder Dempster Lines aged 16. Barry’s first voyage was from London to the United States, via West Africa. The voyage lasted nine months.     A career in the maritime industry can extend onshore into vital shore-based ship management roles and a whole host of other related jobs. Some of these include ship superintendent, ports services and management, marine surveyor and ship broker.
