International opportunities

Programmes to broaden your horizons

Whether you’re interested in working or volunteering abroad through an established programme or you have your own idea for an international project that could enhance the lives of others – LJMU has some exciting opportunities to enable our students to engage with the wider world.

Summer School in Sharjah

In June 2018, LJMU students will have the opportunity to spend a week in the prestigious University of Sharjah.

The summer school, which takes place 23-29 June, offers students the opportunity to experience one of the largest cities in the United Arab Emirates, learn about Arabic culture, receive language classes and have the opportunity to develop a whole range of skills through the variety of other classes offered during the week-long programme.

This opportunity is open to undergraduates.

For more information please download an application form and submit your application to GoAbroad@ljmu.ac.uk before midnight on 10 May.

Go Global Fund

Through the Go Global Fund our students can get funding to help set up their own project or activity in another country. If you have the idea, we can help you realise it.

Asia Internship Programme

For the summer of 2018 we have partnered with CRCC Asia to offer our students a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in internships in Asia. Find out more about this opportunity.

Smaller Earth

Our partnership with one of the UK’s leading student travel providers, Smaller Earth, means we can offer LJMU students the chance to work or volunteer abroad in various capacities. You could be working in the wilds of America teaching children outdoor activities as a camp counsellor, volunteer in Asia, Africa or South America on a conservation project, or gain experience working in a world-class resort.

To find out how you can get involved in any of these programmes, take a look at the sections below.
