The Belonging Podcast

The Belonging Podcast is a student led podcast, supported by the LJMU Diversity and Inclusion team, exploring the many different experiences and perspectives of our diverse student body. Every student has a story, and our interviewees share their experiences of university life, reflect on their journey to higher education and what ‘belonging’ at university means to them.

By capturing these stories, we hope to inspire potential future students, as well as amplify the voice of our students including those from underrepresented backgrounds. At a university that believes everyone is equal but never the same, the podcast aims to showcase individual difference, perspectives and experiences.

Season one - hosted by students Paddy Cree and Riham Bakhouche

Season one episodes includes conversations about what it is like to be an international student, moving to Liverpool to study from Northern Ireland, overcoming obstacles during study, the experience of students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives on belonging and inclusion as students of LJMU, where all students are equal but never the same.
