Andrew C Yao

• Yao was born in Shanghai, China, in 1946.
• He has done essential work in computational complexity theory, the analysis of algorithms, cryptographic protocols, and communication complexity. 
• Yao is renowned for his earlier work in computational complexity theory, especially as applied to the analysis of randomized algorithms.
• He has made significant contributions to the fields of pseudo-random number generation and cryptography. 
• Yao was awarded the A.M. Turing Award in 2000.
