Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao
Rao is an Indian-American mathematician and statistician who has graduated with nearly 40 honorary degrees alongside numerous other awards and medals. - He is known for this work on The Cramer-Rao Bound Theorem, Rao-Blackwell Theorem, estimation theory and multivariate analysis.
- Rao is author of more than a dozen books and he has published over 400 journal publications.
- American President George W Bush, honoured him with the National Medal of Science, the highest award in US in the scientific field, on 12 June 2002.
