Laurie Marker
Marker is an American zoologist who, after finishing college, started working at a wildlife safari to help fund her small businesses in the wine and diary goat industries.- She worked at the safari for 16 years and developed the US and international captive breeding program for cheetahs (cheetah studbooks).
- Through her efforts, Marker established the most successful captive cheetah-breeding program in North America.
- In Namibia, she set up the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), which is now a world-class research, education and conservation centre.
