Marilyn Jorgenson Reece ( 1926 - 2004 )

Born in North Dakota, US, Reece was a Civil Engineer graduate from University of Minnesota.
After graduation, she moved to California to work with the State’s Division of Highways.
Reece is remembered for her iconic contributions, including the three-level San Diego-Santa Monica freeway interchange, now named after her.
She was awarded the Calfornia Governor's design excellence award, acknowledging her work at the forefront of traffic engineering.
In 1963 she said, “Being a woman has never hampered my career.”
