Marilyn Jorgenson Reece ( 1926 - 2004 )
Born in North Dakota, US, Reece was a Civil Engineer graduate from University of Minnesota.- After graduation, she moved to California to work with the State’s Division of Highways.
- Reece is remembered for her iconic contributions, including the three-level San Diego-Santa Monica freeway interchange, now named after her.
- She was awarded the Calfornia Governor's design excellence award, acknowledging her work at the forefront of traffic engineering.
- In 1963 she said, “Being a woman has never hampered my career.”
