Soichiro Honda (1906 - 1991)
- In 1948, Honda established the Honda Motor Company Ltd.
- He started from a wooden shack, manufacturing bicycle motors, to become a multinational automobile manufacturer.
- Honda was Honoured by the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, the highest honour for a Japanese civilian.
- The American Society of Mechanical Engineers have also recognised Honda for his significant engineering contributions.
- Nicknamed "The Japanese Henry Ford”, Honda has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959.
