Sophie Wilson
Wilson is renowned for creating the Acorn Microcomputer, the first computer sold by Acorn Ltd. - During 1978, Wilson extended Acorn Atom’s BASIC programming language.
- This work permitted the company to be awarded with the business of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for its ambitious computer education project.
- In 2013, she was recognised as a fellow to the prestigious Royal Society.
- Wilson is now the Director of IC Design at Broadcom in Cambridge, England.
