LJMU selected for prestigious global maritime role
Liverpool John Moores University has been selected to take on a key role with the prestigious International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).
LJMU will take a seat on the International Executive Board of the IAMU - the global network of leading maritime universities providing education and training - from 2025-2027.
The position is a recognition of LJMU’s ongoing contribution to the organisation, including leading research projects, and the global maritime industry more widely.
Founded in 1999, the IAMU now has 75 member organisations across the globe, all working together on a range of scientific and academic studies, developments and practical applications associated with maritime education and training.
We are delighted to have been selected to sit on the IAMU’s International Executive Board.
It is an honour to have our contribution to maritime education, training and research recognised in this way and an invaluable opportunity to play a leading role in shaping IAMU’s activity.
As the home of the country’s first nautical college, LJMU has a proud history of delivering outstanding maritime education. We are committed to leading research and innovation in the regional and global maritime industries and we look forward to further strengthening our partnerships through our work with the IAMU.
