Chris was born during the Second World War and only studied at university much later in life, like many of the mature students that choose to study with LJMU. He also had a late dyslexia diagnosis, making him realise he just had a different way of thinking and learning.
Steven is a Client Systems Engineer with LJMU’s Information Technology Services. He started his career in Professional Services as an apprentice before eventually gaining a degree - the first person in his immediate family to do so. David is an engineering graduate of LJMU who now works in the research and technology sector. Like many fellow students, David’s journey to university didn’t quite go to plan after he received lower than expected A-level results. But it’s this adversity that set him on a new path through university, and one that he’s grateful for, as he adapted and embraced everything student life has to offer.
Alan is a veteran TV camera operator who has interviewed Liverpool legends and royalty during his illustrious career. Since taking on a role as a senior technician in our screen school, working with those aspiring to carve out a career in journalism, he has inspired countless students along the way.
Solicitor Rachel founded LJMU’s free Legal Advice Centre in 2014, just one year after she joined the School of Law. Every year the centre helps hundreds of people through its free legal advice and public legal information activities, contributing significantly to the economic and social wellbeing of the Liverpool City Region, while developing our students’ skills to put them one step ahead in their professional careers upon graduation.
The Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour is involved in research in all areas of brain and behavioural sciences, applied psychology, cognitive psychology, sports psychology, affective neuroscience, psychopharmacy, animal behaviour, health psychology and mindfulness.
