The RISCS (Research to Improve Stair Climbing Safety) group of RISES is looking for people over the age of 65 years to take part in a study that aims to develop a community-level screening tool that can detect the risk of a fall on stairs specifically.
This project focuses on the role olfactory and oral perception plays in shaping our consummatory experiences, preferences, and food seeking behaviours. Research into this area is important to health research, shaping understanding of individual differences in food selection, consumption, and other dietary behaviours.
Andrew (Andy) Newsam is Professor of Astronomy Education and Engagement in LJMU’s Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI) and the author of Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Universe: And Our Place Within It (2021).
