  1. Funded projects for SMEs

    LJMU is proud to offer local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to support their innovation or low carbon journeys.

  2. Henry Humphreys ‘Humph’ Jones 1878 - 1971

    Principal of our School of Pharmacy in the early 1900s overseeing the school’s greatest period of expansion; LJMU is now one of the oldest providers of pharmacy education in Europe.

  3. Gary Blacker

    Gary is a paramedic science graduate of LJMU with over two decades of experience in the ambulance service. He has now made the transition to become a full-time member of staff at the university, teaching the next generation of health professionals. In 2023 he was named as an Outstanding Teacher at the students’ union awards after being nominated by his students.

  4. Experimental Technologies Lab

    Read more about the Experimental Technologies Lab, an enhancement upon four years of research pursued at our pioneering workshop and research space, FACTLab, a collaboration with Liverpool’s FACT, the Foundation for Art and Creative Technologies, the UK’s leading new technologies arts organisation.

  5. Bambis Breastfeeding Friendly Charter

    LJMU was awarded the Liverpool Bambis Breastfeeding Friendly Mayoral Award in June 2022. The award recognises commitment to supporting staff, students and visitors who are breastfeeding their children to feel welcome to do so across campus buildings.

  6. Jane Williams (1898 - c. 2016)

    Jane was a student at the F.L. Calder College of Domestic Science, one of LJMU’s historic colleges, where she qualified as a teacher. She went on to teach at schools in Wales thanks to a personal reference from Fanny Calder herself. Records from her life help to tell the significant history of LJMU as an institution that supports the training of teachers, always placing importance on providing education for all. The records are held within LJMU’s Special Collections and Archives.
