    The LJMU exemplar houses are the first purpose built, multi-unit housing test facility in the North of the UK. The houses are designed based on standards from the 1920s, 1970s, and present-day and can be used to test emerging green technologies and building methods.

    The Bathgate Early Career Launchpad Fund has been created by the Bathgate Group to break down barriers and open doors into careers in Civil Engineering and Construction.

  3. Pharmacy health checks

    We offer a cardiovascular screening service to LJMU staff and students. Where we will assess your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes. This is a student-led health check, where students are supervised by qualified staff.

  4. PESSPA events

    The LJMU Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity Network aims to connect PE teachers and sport coaches working in schools with staff and students across the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences programmes.

  5. Steve Rotheram

    From bricklayer to the first elected Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram is not only a former LJMU student but works closely with the university on initiatives that benefit the 1.6 million people he represents. This bicentenary year he becomes our first Alumni Ambassador Fellow in recognition of his achievements and how he embodies the values of LJMU.

  6. James Savage

    James is a mental health nursing graduate, and one of many nursing students who went above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic, putting their training into practice to support the NHS during their studies.

  7. Maureen Ouso

    Maureen is a member of staff with the Faculty of Business and Law, and part of the first cohort of employees with the Positive Action Programme. Described by her son as ‘half human, half cyborg’, she says that technology has changed her life since she lost her hearing after contracting malaria in 2010.
