As a lad from Liverpool, Carl is similar to so many of those from the northwest region that stay and study here in Liverpool with LJMU. He has undertaken all of his academic studies here with us, and is an expert in the field of making weight in combat sports.
Alan is a Senior Teaching Fellow with our School of Engineering and in 2023 was awarded the Merchant Navy Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of his contribution to maritime education over more than two decades.

He started his career in Professional Services as an apprentice before eventually gaining a degree - the first person in his immediate family to do so. Trang is a wildlife conservation scientist and environmental activist from Vietnam working in both Asia and Africa to tackle the illegal wildlife trade, and she undertook her undergraduate studies here at LJMU.
Robyn joined LJMU in 2017 and is Programme Leader and Principal Lecturer for Logistics and Maritime programmes with our Faulty of Engineering and Technology. In 2024 she became Associate Dean for Global Engagement, responsible for collaborative provision and international partnerships for the faculty.

Alexandra has been a friend of LJMU since 2015 when she moved to the UK, and alongside her own studies, she has played a key role in forging a relationship between the university and the growing Roma community in the city.

He was a Student Advocate, supporting others to get into higher education and will now go on to serve with Merseyside Police taking his learned experience, and compassion for others, into his career.
