Become a student

Complete your online registration

Once you have received an email from us confirming your place at LJMU, you can then register as a student on our My LJMU platform.

You will need the student ID number from your email to complete your registration.

Step 1
Activate your account

Visit My LJMU and select Activate My Account. Follow the instructions to set up your computer account and to get your university username and password.

Step 2
Upload a photo for your student ID card

Choose a digital photo and upload the photo to your account. This photo will be used on your student ID card.

New students starting in January 2024 who complete their registration and upload a photo before midnight on Tuesday 19 December 2023, will receive their ID card, LJMU lanyard and a campus map by post to their permanent home address.

Students who complete registration from Wednesday 20 December 2023 onwards can collect their ID card at a pop-up card collection hub from Monday 8 January until Friday 26 January 2024, 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, at the Student Life Building or the Tithebarn Street Building reception desks.

ID cards will not be posted between Thursday 21 December 2023 and Friday 26 January 2024.

No card, no access
It's compulsory to bring your ID on to campus, you'll need it to access all of our buildings and lecture theatres and to use our facilities, so make sure to keep it on you at all times. You won't be granted access without it.

Step 3
Upload your personal identification documents

Upload a valid form of personal identification, such as a copy of your driving license or passport, so that we can complete an ID check.

Step 4
Fill in your registration form

Fill in your details on the online registration form to complete the registration process.
