Course aim

This module supports the development of healthcare professionals as confident leaders and role models who value collaborative, interprofessional teamworking. In today’s evolving healthcare environment, professionals must not only deliver high-quality care but also lead service development, manage risk, and influence positive change across organisations.

You will critically examine leadership theory and its application to professional identity, role modelling, and team influence. The module strengthens your ability to evaluate service delivery in response to feedback, changing population health needs, improved outcomes, and emerging therapeutic interventions. It also develops your understanding of motivational theory and consultancy approaches to inspire others and enhance quality improvement.

This module will run for 12 weeks and will commence in April and run on a Tuesday.

The module is delivered face to face at the School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health, Tithebarn Building (L2 2ER), in the heart of Liverpool city centre.
