CPD Developing Practice in Cardiac Care
Level 7 (Postgraduate) 20 credits
Course aim
This module develops advanced knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care. Designed for healthcare professionals managing complex cardiac presentations, it strengthens clinical judgement across acute and long-term settings. Key areas include advanced cardiac anatomy and physiology, haemodynamic assessment, 12-lead ECG interpretation, advanced life support, and management of complex heart failure.
The course also explores cardiac pharmacology, post-intervention care, rehabilitation, and secondary prevention to improve long-term outcomes. Emphasis on culturally competent practice and end-of-life care ensures holistic, compassionate support for diverse patient populations across the entire cardiovascular care pathway.
