Men's Staff Network launches
Network aims to raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys
Colleagues from across the university came together this month for the launch of the new Men’s Staff Network. The network aims to raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society, alongside opportunities for networking and mentoring.
For the first meeting, attendees were joined by Dom, a Development Worker from the Paul Lavelle Foundation, to discuss the Foundation’s work supporting male victims of domestic abuse. Dom, a recent LJMU graduate himself, outlined the foundation’s history and their work across the Liverpool City Region and nationally to support male victims and survivors, alongside providing healthy relationship education to young people in schools.
Following this initial meeting, colleagues will be working with the Diversity & Inclusion and Reward, Wellbeing & Engagement teams in HR to shape the focus of the network for the coming academic year and beyond.
