Results Day 27 February 2026: What to expect and support available

Friday 27 February 2026 is results day. That means if you sat an exam or completed an assignment over the January examination period, at 9am you’ll receive a text and an email signposting you to your results.

So how can you prepare for your results, and who can you speak to if you don’t get the results you want?

Prioritising your mental and emotional wellbeing

We offer a range of support for all students, not only to ensure academic success but also to ensure that you can maintain overall health and happiness.

Here are some top tips on managing expectations and emotions post-results:

Keep perspective

Remember that exam and assessment results are just one part of your journey at LJMU. They don't define your worth or future success. While academic achievements are important, they are just one aspect of your overall development. Whether the results are what you expected or not, take a moment to acknowledge your efforts and the progress you've made.

Take time to process

It's okay to feel nervous, excited, or even disappointed about your results. Allow yourself to experience these emotions without judgment. Talk to friends, family, or university support services if you need someone to listen or offer guidance.

Be kind to yourself

Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a friend. Take breaks, engage in activities you enjoy, and prioritise self-care. Remember that it's okay to take things one step at a time.

Set realistic goals

Regardless of the outcome, use results day as an opportunity to reflect on your academic journey and set realistic goals for the future. Whether it's celebrating your achievements or identifying areas for improvement, focus on what you can control moving forward.

Reach out for support

If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure about how to cope, don't hesitate to reach out for support. LJMU offers various services to help you navigate this time and there are further details below.

Look ahead with hope

No matter the outcome, know that you can overcome challenges and achieve your goals. Keep moving forward with hope and determination. Take care of yourselves and remember that we're here to support you every step of the way.
