Since February 2023 I have been enrolled on a PhD scholarship position in which, using a combination of neuroscientific techniques including immunohistochemistry, psychopharmacology and rodent behavioural experiments, my research is aiming to elucidate the influence of the mammalian oxytocin system in the neuroendocrine regulation of stress- and reproductive-related hormones, with a particular focus on how 'social touch' may act as an important mediatory factor.
